It is fair to say that the new IC-756PR0111 has had the benefit of using design techniques introduced in the IC-7800 The receiver circuit has been upgraded by using higher specification components and larger inductors instead of small coils (such as in the BPF stage) The new receiver gives +30dBM third-order intercept point To minimize distortion and maximise dynamic range the preamplifiers are the same design as in the IC-7800 The digital IF filter shapes are now selectable from soft to sharp for SSB and CW modes. You can now select an appropriate filter shape that favours your operating style or band conditions.
The heart of the IC-756PR011 is the proven combination of 32-bit Floating point DSP unit and 24-bit AD/DA converters - this powerful combination supports many digital processing features not achievable with traditional analogue processors
Increased performance of SSB data mode - when the IF filter passband is reduced to 500Hz or less, the BPF automatically sharpens for better rejection of interferring signals. Easier operation and more accurate tuning perfect for PSK31, SSTV and other AFSK modes
