The ic-e2820 is the successor to the popular IC-2725E and inherits popular features from its predecessor including; VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF simultaneous receive capability, wideband receive, independent tuning knobs and a separate controller. In addition to this Icom has introduced new features including diversity receive capability, a full dot-matrix display and 50W output power in both VHF and UHF bands, all in one stylish mobile set.
When the optional UT-123 Digital/GPS unit is installed the ic-e2820 advanced mobile is capable of both D-STAR Digital Voice and GPS operation. The ic-e2820's GPS features include; position information exchange, plotting your position onto mapping software on a PC. Advanced features; D-STAR Digital Voice facilities and GPS functionality take the ic-e2820 into a new realm of Amateur radio communications.
